Some people love Les Pauls. I hate them.
Different strokes, baby.

Gasp! I love my LP. Though, I can see your point about the weight. For me I really like the weight because it balances itself well for me when I've got it strapped on. Though I really miss having the vibrato arm from my Strat for getting nicely close to ripping off My Bloody Valentine sounds. Might get that new Floyd Rose system for tune-o-matic systems, despite my worry over keeping it in tune to blend better with my electronics.

But yes...

Definitely this.

I think LPs are sold by the pound. A LP Studio is not heavy at all.  When you pick up one of those $3K+ there seems to be some more weight. That's my theory on LPs.

Well it will be out soon and then you can check it out for yourself. And then there will be another update in Feb. Date is still TBD.

Is there anything planned for Feb/March updates?
Patch Point for MIDI
Chord track
Better arpegiator
Any facility of importing styles [that will enhance inspiration!] which will go hand in hand with the chord track

If memory serves, there have been more than twelve releases this year if you count the interim fix releases, of which there were perhaps two. So folks should have received around fourteen updates rather than twelve. Given that historically we received at most perhaps five fix releases between major product versions over perhaps an eighteen month period and a low renewal price I find it hard to understand what the fuss is.

I swore I would never own a Gibson because of the obnoxious fanboys. I was moving so I had like 7 electrics (I don't even really play that much) so I thought why not trade so of them in and get something nicer.  A PRS is out of my price range so I spent a few hours in the local GC and I was thinking LP Studio. I thought I would hate an SG until I played on and then it was more confusion between LP vs. SG.  I went with the LP.  With US made Guitars you really have to check them over because they are inconsistent.  I wanted the red LP Studio but after playing some of them most of them didn't made a sound on the 22nd fret. So I got a white one with gold trim. "Is it wrong for a man to have an LP and not play it every day?"

I see the Manchester update is now available though notice hasn't been posted... Excellent...

I just browsed through the e-zine again and didn't find a list of which modules to manually download as have appeared previously...

I'm sure I wasn't looking in the right place...?

Can anyone give me a pointer?

Thanks!

If you're not using CCC then go to your account and select Sonar platinum. In the Download link that loads you'll see there's 2 files. There's also an update to the documents so download them as well.

Thanks Mike...

I knew the Sonar update itself as well as the docs (everytime), but I was uncertain of whether there were any other modules in need.... Looking through the ezine didnt see a "list" of files to download though I did find one mention that the Sonar update itself was "as you need"... Incorrect as I need the docs too, but it felt a bit ambiguous so I thought to check...

I got the two files earlier this morning and will do the update today... as for the Melodyne update? <sigh>... Not quite sure how I'll get that as currently, I can't get that machine online and there doesn't appear to be any way to download the update to a different pc and transfer the files.... So I'm stuck there for the moment....

Hi Keni.
Have you tried to contact Celemony? You could give them your situation and ask for a .zip file download to your e-mail address with the licence included. It's worth a try.

CCC tries to install a new version of itself and seems to freeze when creating directories. Anyone got a solution to that? I can download Manchester separately but would like to get CCC working.

I must have misunderstood the MIDI improvements in Machester. I had hoped this meant that if I forget to turn on my Mackie Control Universal and Extender when I started Sonar, I could turn them on when Sonar was running and it would recognize them and set them up. I tested this and that's not how it works.

This happens more often than you think and it's quite an annoyance. Ableton Live handles this beautifully - turn on your stuff and it recognizes them and remembers how you had them set up...

Thanks Danny...

You are right... I have nothing to lose...

But I remember investigating for the earlier update and found no recourse other than getting the web to the studio DAW... Luckily I was able to at that time as it was the same problem with Addictive Drums.... But right now I'm having a hard time getting almost any connectivity at all, let alone to the studio...

Steam version as well.

Normally Sonar Steam updates shows up in 2 or 3 days after CCC.

Except for Z3ta+ 2. Still on 2.1. (crying...) Why Cakewalk, why?

In my opinion, I like the way it is (Steam Version), because if some issues arise, I'll know before updating, like the automation bug.

Lexington is working fine for me, so let's wait for the Manchester Update 1.

It doesn't show any "progress" while downloading - but it *is* downloading. it's a little slow - but maybe a lot of people are hitting the server...
Have a look in your CCC download directory - and keep hitting "refresh" (F5)...

As I know, it is supposed to be working in Sonar, there are some cases when it works. It seems there is a bug.

Thanks Bristol_Jonesy and jbraner - is deceptive since creating directories would seem a quick task and CCC surely can't be a big download to warrant a 20 minute wait before killing it...?

Will try again tomorrow :-)

Has anyone noticed that in the Manchester update when arming a specific item for automation (like panning) it now arms everything in the track even plugin parameters. I hope this was not intended and just needs a quick fix! Otherwise all is well. Congrats Sonar team nice update.

DW,
The automation issue in Manchester has been discussed here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3358602.   Noel Borthwick has responded that Cakewalk can reproduce it and will fix it soon here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3359020.
