mike_mccue I think we should take up a collection and get IK_Peter a sweet present for Valentine's Day:
Is Whitman's sampler 64 bit, it looks more modern than ST2.

mcasta1@hotmail.com Grem~ sorry bro they have lied. When you say something is going to happen and then it doesn't, you have lied.
See, this is where I disagree with this point. I believe that Obi and Peter gave info that they believed was correct. I also believe that IK really thought it was going to happen. We really don't know why it didn't happen, time after time after time and on and on. But like I said, I still don't think they out right came on this or any other forum and purposely told their customers fallacious info. That's ludicrous! I have told my co-workers info that the office told me to distribute, only to find out a few days later that the office did a complete reversal. Did I lie to my co-workers? No I didn't. ampfixer I will say that I listen to somebody like cclary before I listen to some "long time" member with a dozen posts.
That was uncalled for. It's this kind of "reaction" that has lead to this "IK Feeding Frenzy!" Again I say, just let it go. You are not doing yourself any good. And you are certainly not hurting IK.

Sorry Grem....They knew. Do you notice that they are conspicuously absent from this general discussion? You are rationalizing their behavior. This isn't a few months of BS, it is a few YEARS....you are entitled to your opinion of IK and their reps as am I. They are lying for their bosses...if you want to look at it your way. But a lie is still a lie. One thing I can't lie about is that BAPU not only has every plugin ever made. He even has the most coveted of all plugins....It's made by Gollum Software and only one person can possess it....the miPrecious! It rings...

Hi Grem, The IK representatives amplified the situation when they elected to argue with their customers rather than listen. They offered arguments and introduced talking points which have resonated and grown out of proportion. When I mentioned that it seemed unusual to encounter a professional representative that argued with customers rather than listen, our IK representative argued about the merits of arguing. It just spiraled up and up until IK_Peter showed up as back up, threw it down, and made a fool of himself and the company he represents. Regardless of what goes on behind the scenes, it is customary for a professional sales rep to maintain the appearance that he empathizes with the customer. The inability to demonstrate this, and the decision to debate with customers, has created a situation where witnessing IK_Representation ruin its reputation has provided more entertainment value than IK's actual products. I didn't even install my IK_stuff on my latest DAW. I have interpreted the relaxation of the constant IK_Spamming and its trademark IK_Arguments as an acknowledgement that IK may be reassessing its public relations strategy. I think it's a step in the right direction. best regards, mike

At the last posting of "when" it was slated for MARCH, which may indicate what the Guitar Center email is referring to...however, that's not to say that they won't put it out a few weeks earlier (but actually 4 years later) then they said, and then tout it as bein RELEASED EARLY!!! And everyone will say YAY!!! DERH!!!

Unfortunately, it is the only way that we can "be heard iLOUD AND iCLEAR" ( see what I did there?). I bought my first IK product back when CW offered the CRS package. Loved the stuff and used it. Next IK purchase was Amplitube 2 package ($19!) that CW offered. And I remember all the talk about Sample Tank when it came out. And it's updates. I just never decided to go with that product. Mostly because I was served by Dim pro, Rapture, and Zeta. They offered the Total Bundle, I got it even though I just purchased Amplitube 3 for $99. Mostly because I wanted the complete T RacKs. I still haven't even used Sample Tank yet! And am I eagerly awaiting it's release? Nope. Like Mike Q said, this pre-release has been much more entertaining! So that's a wrong assumption on your part. Will I buy ST3? Depends on what they offer me. And Larry you made the assumption that I made a purchase, because of my "supportive posts"? If I saw you down and someone constantly beating on you, I'd step in and say enough. IOW, I'd do the same for you, just out of principle. And I would turn to guy beating you and say, "Let it go" This is almost like a religious campaign to convert the non believers. We all know how that turns out. If you feel you must.....

Grem... Now that we're done hugging it out, I'd just like to say I'd rather be warned by someone I trust than fooled by some one I don't know. I have made significant purchases based on the advice of the good people in this forum. I bought a $1500 Variax guitar because BAPU recommended it. (I got a great deal on it too) He was spot-on with his advice. It is worth it's weight in gold. I bought my DAW PC from Jim Roseberry on the advice of multiple users on this forum. Best purchase ever! I don't know any of these people personally but I trust them and value their opinion. The software forum is a great place to find out what's good and what's not so good. What's on sale and what isn't a good deal. I liked IK until they pulled this disgraceful stunt. There are so many smaller software companies like Orange Tree, Indiginus, Scuffham and Valhalla DSP that are trying to scratch out an existence. I'd much rather spend my money supporting them than give another dime to IK. Their name is now officially "Li K Multimedia" in my book I spend more time in here than in any other forum on the Cakewalk page.

Grem, if you notice in my post I said "I assume" and then followed that by "You know what they say about that" (you make an A S S of U and ME) THAT is what I meant....sorry you misinterpreted it... Do I feel I must...YES...it's a matter of PRINCIPLE. If I "let it go" in this case...then THEY win... BUY all you want from them...be my guest. I own and USE just about everything they make... But not any more...sometimes you have to make a stand, especially for what is RIGHT for EVERYONE. You can let it go....that is your prerogative.... but I have to say, it was a very bad Analogy...not to be disrespectful...but your analogy was poor, and if I'm WRONG and have DONE WRONG..then I deserve the beating...and should suffer the consequences of that wrong, especially if I refuse to apologize and make amends...IMHO...

Can I just say that I really don't think we guys in the forum should be arguing with each other about a company like IK - no matter who's right or wrong in the argument, in my book the only party that is hopelessly "wrong" is IK. Perhaps we could agree on just that point and move on. This is such a great forum, we don't want to be falling out with each other over a company like IK which employs pretty suspect marketing to say the least. Its not worth it, or perhaps I should say, they're not worth it. Cheers guys Nigel

Larry, Now your calling me an A S S! CTFO dude! I saw your statement about assumptions. And I stand by what I said, you made a wrong assumption. Not me! I'm still cool with you. But don't call me an A S S. And the most important point of that post was the religious analogy. mcasta1@hotmail.com I have made significant purchases based on the advice of the good people in this forum. We are a lot alike. I bought my first music computer from Jim in '98. Made many purchases based on what I learned from good people on the newsgroup and this forum. In fact a lot of things I learned about from Larry! I come to this forum and look around. I post mostly in the Main forum. But I still look all over. But not really sure what your trying to convey to me. I could make assumptions, but rather not right now!! : )

Grem, I'm going to have to come to cclarry's defense here (believe it or not!), and say that his statement was a self-deprecating one. He said "I'm assuming that..." and then noted that those who make assumptions often make an a s s of themselves. So, he was saying essentially, "I might making a fool of myself by making this assumption." I didn't read it as directed to you, but just to himself. In my opinion (<--did I do that right?)
