Hello? How about somebody from Cakewalk post an update. Not a word today. This launch is a catastrophe.

Oh don't be daft!  Less than 24 hours after the announcement, and if every issue isn't resolved it's a catastrophe?!  They've explained emails will be sent out in batches, and their database issues will be looked at.  Give 'em a chance - not sure what their timezone is, but they may not even be at work yet!

Here's another issue--and a resolution: I was trying to download my file in IE8 without success; it kept downloading 84.8kb of something with the right file name ith then pronounced "not a valid Win32 application" (well, DUH!). Then I had a brainstorm and installed Firefox (I should say re-installed; this is my second go-round with Win7 RC 64-bit). Ta-daa!
Downloading now. Thanks, keith, for reminding me--Firefox has a built-in download manager. There's also a handy little add-on called "Down-Them-All" which is even better.

Hi guys,

I have downloaded Sonar 8.5 ok, and am starting to install it but it is asking for my serial number to continue.

Where can i find my serial number online for 8.5? - I have tried the my account and registration pages and nothing there.

Will it be emailed to me? and is it part of all the other problems in this thread?

So close to installing, but you can't without a serial number!

any ideas guys?

#2 - entire history and all product registration missing

How resolved and how fast will determine if I continue to purchase CW products

I'm very happy to report that CW has corrected and fixed my database issues - all my product registrations have been restored. So this was corrected quickly for me at least and I want to  THANK CW web, tech, or whomever support fixed this

Re:If you are having trouble accessing your 8.5 upgrade - check in here September 16, 09 3:26 PM (permalink)

I spoke to a customer service rep yesterday afternoon and was told my account would be fixed by last night.

It has NOT been fixed.

I have copies of all my documentation from purchasing  Guitar Tracks Pro, Pyro, Pyro 5, SONAR 6, 7, and 8.
But NONE of my registrations show up, and there is nothing in my order history (everything was there until this year)

I have been a LOYAL Cakewalk customer since 2003, but that may be about to change.
Keeping accurate records is a basic part of being in business, especially when you base your pricing on customer's past purchases.

Cake, your software is Aces.

Your record keeping is apparently on the hobbyist level.

That is unexcusable.

How are we supposed to have enough confidence in your bookeeping to give you credit card numbers, etc. when you apparently can't keep track of the data?

It would appear that I now have an account.

But not one of the 20 Cakewalk products I have purchased since 1994 appear in my records.

Hello, Carl

It's me again.  Checked my email and still no link or whatever (#3 expecting email for free upgrade).  Rechecked my registrations and they are still in place.

Tried calling customer service to no avail.

Hoping for the best

problem #4 - got the email, purchased the upgrade but then the download link to s8.exe doesn't work.

I've sent a support email & am in no hurry so please fix the other guys first.
And thanks for offering the download option, I see that as progress even if it doesn't work for everyone

cheers

edit: the link changed today, it's no longer s8.exe and -wow- it works!  thanks cake

I listen for your footsteps coming up the drive, Listen for your footsteps but they don't arrive, Waiting for your knock dear on my old front door, I don't hear it, Does it mean you don't love me anymore?

I hear the clock a-ticking on the mantelshelf, See the hands a-moving but I'm by myself, I wonder where you are tonight and why I'm by myself, I don't see you. Does it mean you don't love me anymore?
...

#3 for me. My account info has been current and up to date until today....It just vanished in thin air. They must be working on the data or something, and in the process of fixing yours they lost mine o well. I check my email and then my purchase history every 20 min.....nothing yet...should I call?
