Carl I was able to purchase Sonar 8.5 and for that I thank you and the staff at cakewalk. But I’m still going to hold you on fixing my account (registration history missing, no email from cakewalk for 3 years; not the old spam folder problem either). It has been three months of me requesting through email, phone call and PM to have it fixed. This is the third time that it has happened. The first two times an email and phone call and it was fixed the same day. The problem occurred this time when I changed my password. Best of luck to providing a quick and painless fix for everyone. And thanks again for allowing me to purchase Sonar 8.5 in the mean time.

Wow that was quick thanks for fixing the registration data on my account. I would also like to receive cakewalks promotional emails. Keep up the great work.

I spoke to a guy at Customer Service and he fixed my problem in about 10 minutes. Hope there's no more glitches. Thanks a lot for your hard work, whoever you were, sorry I forgot to get your name. Downloading now, but boy it's a big file! Hee hee, now I gotta develop a whole new patience paradigm. Thanks again to the guy at Customer Service!

I just clicked "Search" from the store... first link was 8.5 free offer. I just logged in with my proper registration data there for 8 (didn't have that reg problem). Bought it 3rd party... no email yet, so I clicked search and there it is.

I still have no registrations in the store. In addition, I have not received the email response from customer service that I was promised yesterday. I tried, again, to buy the upgrade but still no luck. Been working this for a couple of months now...

Have patience--my registrations are now back. The list doesn't make total sense (duplicate entries, though no duplicate SNs) but it does include all my registered products. Before, when I'd completed my order, my S8.5PE SN and reg code appeared but not the others. I added them to the document I keep for cut & paste for reinstalls. Printing out the list now and backing up to disk!

I don't know if you need the email to order. Like voidfiller said the first thing you see when you hit the store is the link for the upgrades. Actually now that I think of it I think all I needed was my email address that I'd registered with and my e-store password (which fortunately I remembered). When I'd signed in I checked my registrations cos everyone else was talking about it, but I never got asked for a reg number except for the new one of course. I guess I would have if I wasn't registered with the e-store already though...

No luck still for me. No reg info. Still being told I am already registered when I try to re-enter Sonar 8PE serial number. And still being told ineligible for upgrade. Have given up and sent an email to Customer Service. Patience surely is a virtue. ;)

My problem has not been resolved. registration history missing and when I try to purchase I get " you are not eligible " messge. I have wrtten an email to customer service but no response. I must say this is all very frustrating. I thought we were writing in this thread so that our problems could be solved individually. Is there anybody in cakewalk doing this ?

Dear Kate. I followed your updated instruction and have now downloaded the free upgrade successfully. Thanks to all at Cakewalk for eventually getting there. A stressful time for you all I'm sure. Good D/L speed (I'm in Australia) - around 550kb/s using Free Download Manager.

We were given the impression that Customer Service would be running through this thread and helping individuals. Obviously, a helluva lot more than 'a handful' of folk having trouble!!

Are you trying to install from scratch or have you got V8.3.1 still installed? The V8.5 download works like a patch to an existing install. You can't run it on a machine without V8.x

Thanks for the try Cliff

i did not read the thread completely. i suffer from stopping downloads. first time i tried the download stopped at 1.8 gb, today it stopped at 42 %. also the download is VERY slow ( approx 100kbps). i suppose there's no torrent for that ... (and no, that was not a joke). [EDIT] I'll try it tomorrow in the office, we have a 20mbit connection there ...

I am suffering from 2. Yesterday (16/09/09), I received the email 'Your Free SONAR Upgrade Is Here - Introducing SONAR 8.5 Producer'. I checked my registration list and found my recent upgrade to Producer 8 was there. I decided to wait a bit to think what to do, as I could purchase one or more of the SONAR 8.5 Producer Elite Version Upgrades. Today (17/09/09), I checked my registration list and found all my Sonar registrations were missing which go back to Sonar 1.
