I FIGURED IT OUT!! - All of the missing previous purchases and registrations are under my account that is tied to an older email address. I can use my old email and old login and get the upgrade to 8.5PE. It'd be nice if we could change our email address on our account and have all of the purchase/registration histories transfer to that new email address. The last time my account was "erased" I was told that the databases would be combined at some point. Apparently, that hasn't happened yet. I'm very happy that all of the info is still there (whew!) - I just have to remember to use my old email address and login. Funny - even though my current email address doesn't show S8PE purchase or registration (hence, it's not approved for an upgrade to 8.5PE), it was the one used to notify me that an 8.5 upgrade is available! I know you're all doing your best to get this corrected. Thank you all for your time, energy and effort. Peace, MG

aries I am suffering from 2. Yesterday (16/09/09), I received the email 'Your Free SONAR Upgrade Is Here - Introducing SONAR 8.5 Producer'. I checked my registration list and found my recent upgrade to Producer 8 was there. I decided to wait a bit to think what to do, as I could purchase one or more of the SONAR 8.5 Producer Elite Version Upgrades. Today (17/09/09), I checked my registration list and found all my Sonar registrations were missing which go back to Sonar 1. Today (18/09/09), my registration list is back including Sonar Producer 8.0 and Dimension Pro. The Serial numbers are there but Registration Codes are not.

I am having trouble with #4. Producer 8.5 won't install. First it tells me that there are a bunch of files it can't install and when I say ignore I can start the program but it comes back with a message that it can't run. If I abort it rolls back so no 8.5. I've uninstalled it twice and reinstalled to no avail. Glad I haven't deleted 8.3.

Another email to Cake support *sigh*. The joys of living in the UK and the support team are US only and it's a international number to call :( Guess I'll sit and wait it out.

i feel the need to apologize for my rude posting earlier cakewalk is of course not responsible for my isp's technical incapabilities. i managed to download the upgrade yesterday, and so far everything seems to work perfect, so many thanks for not throwing me off the board ;) the only thing that confused me a little is that the upgrade does not by default overwrite version 8.3, but rather installs a parallel 8.5, but thats not a problem either. regards :)

I have sent an email to Cakewalk requesting a change. My old email address will expire shortly. I suppose it doesn't matter, since I get their notices at the new one, but still, there should be a way to log in to your account and change the registration password.

I have gotten the email, signed it, and have access to the three files. UPDATE: Nemmind. The seventh download apparently was the charm. After 6 hours of bad downloads, the 7th hour produced the "uncorrupted" download file. Jeff I have downloaded the files three different times. Acording to the Windows download box, the entire thing downloaded successfully. However, when I run the main install file (Sonar_Producer_8.5.exe) on my Sonar PC (I downloaded the file to my main PC, and then copied it to my separate CW PC), it starts to "unpack" bin files, does two of them, and states that the file is corrupted and I need to download a fresh copy. This has happened three times, after an hour spent downloading the file. I am installing on a Windows Vista PC with 6gig RAM and plenty of hard disk space and it already has Sonar 8.3 installed. I'm seeing something different. Made the purchase OK. Credit card has been charged according to VISA, got the download OK, but nothing at all has shown up in my registrations list. At this point, I have the download file, but no serial number and no registration code. This happened to me on the 8.0 purchase as well. If it matters, I've only ever had one account registered.

I got my account updated Ok by CW late Friday and made the purchase and download Ok yesterday (Sat). Thanks to Eric and his CW team. Having heard about possible file corruptions here, I used the Firefox browser (instead of my usual IE8) to make the downloads, as it has an integral download manager and file verification process. Don't know if that would help anyone. Everything installed Ok on my notebook and studio PCs without a hassle.

Hi Cake Team, Still no registrations and still not eligible. Any update when the *small* number of accounts will be fixed? I have fired an email off to support as yet still no reply. The pizazz of receiving the "Your free upgrade is available" email so many days ago is starting to wear off now. :( C'mon at least an update.... Cheers

respectfully, i have purchased, registered, installed and received the serials for an upgrade from SPE6 to SPE8, all early last week. i have now experienced all 3 of the issues with respect to the free upgrade to SPE8.5. i posted my problems here and submitted two support request emails to cakewalk last week. they have not responded in any way (except to send me more promotional email to buy SONAR). My Account still does not correctly show all my registrations. most importantly, it does not show my recently registered copy of SONAR 8 PE. THEREFORE: 1) i still have not received the email. 2) i get a "not eligible" error if i try to follow the "new" links, etc. 3) My account is screwed up. 4) no response from cakewalk. Could someone at Cakewalk please provide information as to when I can reasonably expect to get access to the update you promoted the hell out of and now can't seem to deliver? <sighs and waits some more>

I still haven't been able to get this resolved with Cakewalk. I would think with the roll out snafu last week the email business would have been fixed by now. I've sent 3 emails and haven't heard a peep. Come on guys - let's get this fixed!
