Free mixing template revised!

Hi Gang!

This is the day you've been waiting for! I have revised and expanded my free mixing template. There are more compressor settings, EQ settings, more reverbs, etc. It incorporates many of the effect settings that I've posted in this forum over the years as well as some ideas that I've borrowed (specifically, the stereo splitter routing). None of this is revolutionary, but it's nice to make the most out of what you have.

You can download the template from my signature.

Blessings,
Jonas

Thanks Jonas. I have a couple of questions. One, when I ran the template - or rather when I double clicked on it, after Sonar started up and loaded the template I got a message saying it couldn't find the StylusRMX, which I gather is a synth of some kind. It doesn't seem to be used in the template anywhere. Is that really supposed to be there?
Also, maybe a more basic question, how does one make use of a "mixing template"? I mean, is there someway to apply it to a project I've already been working on, or do I need to start from scratch with the template at the beginning? Sorry for such a newbish question. Thanks again!

Mick:

I was actually too embarrased to ask the same question. Glad you had the courage. I guess I have to learn that it's OK to ask the simple questions! From reading the included *txt file, I gather that you're supposed to open a new project using this template. I e-mailed Jonas offline to ask him .

I also had the " Stylus RMX" issue. I think it's a softsynth.......

I'll check into the Stylus issue. It's not supposed to be in the template.

As far as using it for an existing project...The individual instrument tracks can be saved as track templates and then applied into an existing project with a minimum of fuss. However, all of the effect busses/routing would have to be recreated by hand first.

Yet another option would be to export each one of your audio tracks and re-import them into the new template.

You'll have to decided which of the above is the least amount of work.
