i noticed the directions on your site say to uninstall previous mod..what about for us new users??should we just take the directions from there???im almost ready to take the move..great work dude...love your work...its amazing and your so dedicated to improving this..

Most important rule: Make a copy of the original TTSRS90.dll. Then it's up to you...
Mods have worket amazing well! I have made hundreds of custom TTSRES90.dll files now and there has been only ONE problem. It was my own fault as I tried to import x64 data to x86 mod. (Sonar crashed, I made new DLL and everything was fine again).

Sonar Mods  FAQ version 0:

Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes. Patch installer cancels if it doesn't find the right version of the Sonar DLL.  Nobody at this forum has reported of messed systems. DLL editing is based on built-in Windows functions.

Q: Must I uninstall the previous mod before new?
A: No. You can overwrite old if you want to. In that case mods are cumulative.

Q: Is it difficult to make mods?
A: Now it's a bit tricky but wait for Sonar Skin Editor - coming this spring (autumn in Australia?).

Q: Do you use your mods yourself?
A: Absolutely yes! I have used them from the very beginning in my commercial recording studio. Mods have worked perfectly.

Q: I saw a donate button at sonarmods.com. How much should I donate?
A: $100 is minimum.

Q: Are you kidding?
A: Yes. You may download mods for free. Doing mods is my hobby.

Q: What are those four and five digit numbers in changes log
A: They're bitmap IDs in the DLL file. I categorize the DLL structure for the upcoming Sonar Skin Editor.

Q: Are these really frequently asked questions?
A: Some are, most are not. :-)

Hey panup, I just wanted to thank you for your efforts at improving the SONAR X1 GUI. I am really digging the Reindeer v1.30. Let's hope the X1b update does not break it.

Cheers,

Wow, panup!

I wasn't going to install any mods until after X1 was out of beta but I couldn't resist the temptation to see what the Yellowstone looked like on my monitors.  So I decided to install it for a few minutes to have a look.

I will throw the CW boys a bone and say that I like the way their GUI looks as a first impression, however, the Yellowstone is so much more readable for me.  I don't have to squint at the screens to read the text.

CW, consider hiring a 50 something year old with tri-focals to do your GUI design approvals and maybe you will understand.

Good work, panup!  I'm going to keep the mods in place.

I seeing a misaligned Icon problem in the inspector.  Seems a bit too low.  Don't know if this is an X1 issue or a Yellowstone mod issue.

EDIT: Also the thin black text on medium green is a bit hard to read on the Musical Time Snap widget.  Maybe a slightly more pastel shade?  Is this button the same color as the On/Off widget for the Sends.  That seems to be more clear to me.

This is probably Sonar bug, not Yellowstone because Yellowstone does not change any bitmap positions in Channel Strip.
Did you mean the Snap To Grid section in Control Bar? Now it's blue. I actually wanted to change it to yellow but that I don't know the ID of that bitmap - I have changed it by good luck so far.

Btw, Yellowstone is 1.5 available in 30 minutes.

I think that Yellowstone 1.0 was better in regard to the Snap To buttons.  The blue button is even harder to read.

Also I am seeing a different color blue band running horizontally where the Icons are located in the Console View.

I have reverted back to 1.0

LOVE the Pro Channel text instead of those symbols that I could never figure out.

Minor niggle. Why not match the blue background/white text of the Snap To Button with the Snap interval. For some reason my eye picked that up right away. Still really liking Yellowstone panup.

I'm aware and working HARD on this!!! I don't know ID of that background box  and there are 1400 files in the folder! Same applies to the channel strip icon bg. I may have mentioned that ID in this thread. I must search for it now.

1.51 comes asap and fixes this.

Yes.  I typed "Snap To" wrongly.

EDIT:  I see now that Snap To and Snap By has different text and button color.  I missed that.

FWIW to panup, the white text on blue back ground is easy for me to read.

ProChannel icons were always crypric for me, too. Now they're clear and I tend to change their position more than before.

I wonder if the on/off icons in console view should be replaced with same text buttons, too.

Yellowstone 1.51 for English x64 available for download.
I build other versions during Monday.

- Changes in Control Bar / Snap To Grid section.
- Colors in many icons now better matched.
- Experimental: ProChannel SSL compressor VU meter is new. Needle is still white, I change it to black in later update.
- ProChannel EQ buttons a bit dimmer now.

Known issues:
- ProChannel HighPass button shadow is too dark
- Console View Icon Background color is lighter than the rest of the Console View.
- Some yellow buttons may have not the same yellow color as the others.
- There are still many unknown bitmaps in the GUI waiting for customization.

Free downloads available at www.sonarmods.com.
Enjoy!

The Yellowstone looks great.  Thank you, Panu.

I was hoping it would fix the problem with the control surface dialog preference page being too big to see the apply and cancel buttons at the bottom.
