Thank you all you kind people that have made donations during past days. I hope to finish Dark Side as soon as possible! These things are still under development: - Empty area on the top of the Console View Channels not yet found - Empty area bitmap on the top of the ProChannel in Console View not yet found - Compact mode ProChannel: one bitmap not yet found - One light grey bitmap in Aux Send section in Surround Mode not yet found. EDIT: I released version 1.00 with all these issues. I'll fix them later if I can.

You can't really see the nice shading and detail in the Screen Shot but this is really beautiful and one can really see the hard work that went into this version.

Dark Side Console View: * ProChannel Compressor, EQ and Tube Saturation buttons: icons replaced with texts. More intuitive because Compressor and EQ looked too similar. * Some Chanel Strip icons are derived from Sonar 8.5.3 and modified for X1. * Archive button is from 8.5.3 (introduced in Yellowstone 1.5). * New faders taken from the real world! They are larger than orignal ones and I tweaked them two hours to get them fit. Dark Side's fader in analog world, channel 5: I under exposured photo to avoid white becoming too bright. Final version is almost like the original ;-). Master Bus red fader is real, too. Main Oout blue is made from the red one. I used this image around knobs: White background makes it difficult to see. I drew dots over an real SSL Console image. It's almost from real world ;-).

John, Roby, Larry, You're welcome. I am delighted you like Dark Side. I put a lot of effort to make it as good as I can. My humble dream was to make the best looking Console I have ever seen in digital world. Normally I use Console View rarely but now I love to open it. Mission accomplished. -Panu

IMPORTANT NOTES I'd like to remind that if you use modified SONAR X1 you are not going to get help from Cakewalk Support. Use mods at your own risk. Do not request support from Cakewalk even if your issue is not mod related. I want to share Sonar Mods for the Sonar Community but we must remember Cakewalk may abort our party any time. DO NOT DISTURB CAKEWALK IF YOU USE MODS. How to install mod - Optional: Uninstall previous mod. You may also overwrite old mod but in that case some old mods may remain in the GUI unintentionally.
- Move downloaded patch to Sonar X1 program folder where TTSRES90.dll is located.
Default path: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer. - Make sure Sonar is not running.
- Execute patch (Run as Administrator).
How to uninstall - Delete or rename modded TTSRES90.dll.
- Rename TTSRES90 Backup.dll as TTSRES90.dll.
- If you don't find the original TTSRES90.dll install Sonar again.
OK, this is enough... Let's party! -Panu

I forget to mention some important Dark Side features: * Control Bar / Performance: Hard disk icon replaced with C Cassette. Grey=Idle, Green=OK, Red=High usage. * Control Bar / Performance: Generic CPU icon replaced with Zilog Z80. * Grey pushbuttons in various places are a few degrees darker now. Smart Tool is obvious example. * Disabled Aux Send in Console View Channel Strip: Lev and Pan knobs are replaced with Dolby *) and Attitude (turned to max). --- *) Our local rock star was in a studio in 70's: Studio engineer asked: - Do you want dolby [to this demo cassette]? - Yes, put a little. Same guy giving mixing instructions: - You have to put more rebel to guitars in the chorus! He tried to say 'treble'.

I don't see a way to turn on the tube saturation section in Pro Channel? As much as I have protested about the analog sound I sorta like the saturation in Pro Channel. Edit I found it. Its above the line in the Eq section.

I like these mods very much. Is it possible to change the tooltip popups from the white on white to something so it's ledgable? It only does it when your adjusting a knob or slider. When you just hover, it's fine.

Cakewalk should offer Panu some $$ for this and take his work and integrate it in to X1. I am a big fan of what these user mods accomplish compared to the standard X1 scheme/way. With this thread growing rapidly, and the amount of steam it has with the "regulars" (and non "quoted" regular folks), it would be smart for Cake to integrate this formally in X1c. This would show me they have a finger on the pulse of what customers want.
