As you know panup I love your Mods. Only thing I'd like to see is the Reindeer mod with a way to tell the difference between MIDI and Audio tracks in CV like Evolution Theory. Doesn't have to be black versus white but any subtle change would help. DO NOT make a custom change just for me but if it makes sense and it can be done easily and works for others then by all means - at your leisure.

himalaya Hi panup, I haven't read the whole thread, but why haven't Cakewalk employed you yet?! They are mad! There is one major thing: Cakewalk was not willing to move their HQ to Helsinki. :D

DO NOT make a custom change just for me but if it makes sense and it can be done easily and works for others then by all means - at your leisure. I'm working on it right now. I have not yet solved all Console view bitmap purposes and thus I have to do huge amount of 'trials and errors'. In previous mods I changed some bitmaps half accindentally - I don't know anymore what I did... This is what I am now doing: ID Description Status Color Size X * Y 753 Default audio track icon ok 754 Default MIDI track icon ok 755 Default Instrument track icon ok 756 stereo track little icon 757 mono track icon little 760 Instrument track icon blue 767 Instrument track icon blue, red bg 1046 MIDI / something icon, black bg 2284 two white arrows to circle with dot icon 2316 surround pan circle 2366 mono track icon cyan, black bg 2367 mono track icon cyan, red bg 2368 stereeo track icon cyan, black bg 2369 stereo track icon cyan, red bg 2370 cyan MIDI icon, black bg 2371 cyan MIDI icon, red bg 2372 cyan MIDI / something icon, black bg 2373 cyan MIDI / something icon, red bg 2385 white folder icon, black bg 2392 video button 5 parts 2398 8 button 5 parts 2399 Control Bar – duration, frame ok 2447 large mono audio track icon 2451 large white MIDI icon, black bg 2457 large default bus icon 2474 large MIDI+keyboard icon 2483 large piano icon 2527 + - icon 2528 large white folder icon BMP 2686 Narrow Strip Inactive track Icon background, MSR background, MIDI Channel ProChannel placeholder bg, Send/Bank background 2811 Disabled Aux Send section, Narrow. 3164 Wide grey with vertical black borders 3165 Narrow grey with vertical black borders 16177 Grey box. Fader knobs data: PNG 3449 Fader Audio Wide, MIDI Wide CONSOLE 3550 Fader Audio Narrow, MIDI Narrow CONSOLE 3450 Fader Bus Wide CONSOLE 3458 Fader Bus Narrow CONSOLE 3451 Fader Mains Wide CONSOLE 3459 Fader Mains Narrow CONSOLE This means that Audio and MIDI strips have common fader bitmaps. Different fader knobs are possible for narrow and wide strips. Currently they look identical but they could be different.

Experimental Reindeer 1.20 is available with a little Making Of page. This mod tests light blue background for Console View. My goal is to find a background color that works for both black, white and grey texts. Comments, please.

HumbleNoise any subtle change would help. Is it enough if some part of the strip is in different color? There are some common elements and it's not possible to make entirely different colors for Audio and MIDI strips. Audio strip's icon background is same bitmap as MIDI's background in large areas. Thus MIDI strip could be in different color but Icon area bg would be same as MIDI strip color. Alternate way to make difference is to color Bank/patch and EQ sections. ProChannel area is easy one because it's located only in Audio strip. Any suggestions?

Screen Shot for Reindeer 1.20 - Really like the feel panup. Especially like the contrast when sends are off and on. There was something you did with one other set where you could identify Audio and MIDI really easy I'll post a Screen Shot and the version of the mod.

This was evolution theory and somehow the MIDI tracks were the dark gray and the Audio tracks blue and when you'd select a MIDI track it would turn that reddish color. Very easy to see which was which as far as Audio and MIDI. Maybe something not quite as severe as Evolution theory but a difference anyway.

Love your Reindeer 1.20 mod! This is probably my favorite so far. Personally I think it looks great if I also set the track view colors to "X1 Light". A donation is heading your way. Cheers, Cliff

Very easy to see which was which as far as Audio and MIDI. Maybe something not quite as severe as Evolution theory but a difference anyway. In this screen capture is seen that MIDI fader background shares the same bitmap as icon bg. MIDI Selected: I did not make any brown bitmap. There must be some (still unknown) overlay or shading bitmap Sonar draws over the strip when it is selected. I will find it - sooner or later.

Hi Panup: There's no doubt that you have done a fantastic job with these mods. I don't get paid until the 1st of March, but I'll remember to visit your site to make a donation. Now, what I was wondering is if it would be possible to have one of the reindeer mods have the rectangular fader/slider knobs? I like the rectangular ones over the rounded ones.

thomasabarnes I'm sorry, Panup> :( I don't mean to throw a wrench in your works. :( No problem - making a small patch is an easy and quick task. I know exact location of those fader knobs and it will take only a few minutes to do it all from mod to get it online! Try to ask same from Cakewalk! Your results may vary..... ;-)

just downloaded the Reindeer V 1.2. Absolutely awesome! Once we get the X1b update if it makes my X1 work then I will run this for sure. Its a shame I still can't get X1a to run long enough to work with. But I can tell even from the default settings when SONAR opens what a change . Is there a change in the Plugin Manager Window size as I don't see this? Or what is the change made to the Plugin manager. Maybe it's more subtle.

Did you note that Plug-in Manager is a separate patch that must be run in Cakewalk/Shared Utilities folder? Original: Bigger (open in new tab to shop in 100% size):

Please don't burn out, Panup. Perhaps you should take a break until X1b? I'm looking forward to X1b + Reindeer + Sonar Plus Toolbar, I think that might finally make me switch from 8.5.3.

I was thinking the same thing.... .... Although I haven't gone through the 10 pages on this post, this seems to be a success to most/all that have used it and the bakers would be missing out if they didn't see this..... When X1b comes out, will all these modifications get wiped out....AND is there a way to save/use these modification after installing X1B? Or should we just forget X1b and go with Panup? LOL
