Hey Paup,

Have you by any chance managed to work out how to change the colours how to make the TV control sliders different colours yet?

Like this for example:

Cheers,
Child

This would be really cool, better visual feedback is a must. :)

This may be impossible for me but for Bakers this is piece of cake.

Panu, I think your mods alone is good reason for anyone to consider upgrading to X1 coupled with the upcoming skin editor by benstat.

I'd still like to see a mod that is light gray in color, not just the Pro Channel, but the overall look with darker buttons.  This would be good for daytime and evening views.  Perhaps this can be a future mod when time permits.

Hi syntheticpop,

thanks for your suggestion. I put light grey mod to queue :-).
Hopefully CW saw your potential reasons for upgrade...

I hope they have noticed our message and see people want to customize GUI colors.
Ultimately my mods become useless if they include skinning in X2...

Hi panup,

does it work with french version ? I saw there are italian and german versions so I guess it doesn't work with the french version.

What are differences between german and english versions for example (it's not only pictures ?).

Thanks for your work.

Mods are identical for every language. There is one exception: English Big Windows version makes changes to dialog window sizes and tweaks some context menus.
I may add French support soon. Look for the upcoming updates!

Hello,
I'm fairly new to this forum and have spent many hours reading this particular thread (and now your other forum) - I don't even have X1 yet and have been reading everything on here to soak it up before I take the plunge. I always wait for later upgrades to a new version of software before I jump (I just bought 8.5 last summer after waiting a year for the bugs to be worked out).

I want to say that what you've done here is very valuable and would cause many more people who were 'on the fence' to go ahead and purchase X1 - that's a win for Cakewalk = more sales. And I think a lot of your mods would never be addressed in a new version of X1 IF they ever get around to adding a color modification feature. Your work will still be useful, because I have a feeling they would NOT allow things like modifying the confusing icons to words (in pro channel) and change the color of some indicator 'lights'. I think their mods will be the most basic and wouldn't allow you to pick which fader style you want or even change things like a CPU meter.

So keep at it, Panu!  I really like what I see and after the X1b release, I'll see about upgrading myself and trying out some of your great modifications.
Thanks,
Startngo

Hi Startngo,

You're welcome to my forum! You're right, 'official' customization would not allow users make too radical changes because there must be certain style and feel in SONAR people except. If there was no standard in GUI icons it would get difficult to write instruction manual or make tutorial video because GUI looks so different.

I wish for one quite simple customization option: one or two knobs to adjust overall contrast and hue of the GUI.  0% contrast = grey text on grey bg, 100% contrast = black on white or white on black. Hue control would affect all buttons at once.

Official CW mod would never allow you to change disk performance icon to C cassette like I have done! ;-)

Mod News

Dark Side [Of Sonar] updated to version 1.02.

New feature:
Now support for French x64.

Dark Side 1.01 users don't need to do anything. This is just tiny bugfix version. Okay, one major new feature is added along with French support. If you need a new photo realistic screw to hold ProChannel compressor VU meter needle then this is a must for you. I photographed my hardware 1176 compressor's screw - this is a real thing and improves ProChannel's mojo.

Enjoy!
