Great looking update. I'm waiting patiently for the posters who either
A. Complain that this isn't enough of an update
B. Want to know when we'll see March updates

Sure, I'll have a go...

Somewhat disappointed that C3 didn't get any improvements. I'm about to get a new system and was hoping a fixed C3 will allow for user specified install locations, since the limited size OS-only SSD drive should be off limits to applications, and especially music samples. See this thread.

For an advanced product that is often installed on dedicated DAW systems with dedicated drive layouts with dedicated music application and music sample drives, it is surprising that we still cannot specify install locations. At least not without bypassing C3 and doing the install manually.

Just scanned the PDF of Braintree. Wow! Here I was wondering what was taking CW so long getting out the February installment and now I know. They packed in a whole lot. All sorts of neat things have been added to Sonar.

Really a great job CW! Much more than I expected.

They have a wonderful shopping mall there: Braintree Plaza.  I do my Christmas shopping there. But I'm wondering why Cakewalk chose Braintree?  I'm guessing they're going to use another town around Boston for each update, so maybe next we'll see Brookline or Allston or Jamaica Plain?  Or maybe they'll go even farther away and we'll get Cohasset or Scituate or Marshfield, that would be SWEET!!!

Anyway, this release is what I was hoping for - very substantial and not just bug fixes and updates.  There's actually content (the fun stuff)!!!

Way to go Cakewalk!!!

Is the list of fixes complete?  Specifically, I was wondering about the problem of Mix Recall not saving the muting status of instrument tracks, which I don't see listed.

I'll be installing Braintree later and will answer if no one has by then. But I assume the loops will be in the Audio Library (look in the Media Browser, or search on "Hardgroove" in the browser - it's recursive now, so will find the library if it's within a folder). The Steinberger expansion should show up in the list of Rapture programs, but remember, you need to hit F5 after opening Rapture to refresh the browser so it can "see" the program.

Since I have my Rapture library on my F Library drive will that be a problem? I just got home from doing taxes (YAHOOO) and will go turn on CCC next!

I have no idea, but report back if there are issues...I can tell you how to move Rapture programs around.

It is possible to download the update for offline installation?

Yes, you can either grab the installers from here: www.cakewalk.com/my-account/products

Or download through Cakewalk Command Center and grab the installers from here: C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads

Just went to my account, I do not see the update there. Please advise.

You can always "rollback" to a previous version with C3, then call support when they're open.

BTW, I find Cake's support about the best around - just my experience.

I'm not clear on what to install with BrainTree.  I have Platinum, I'm not able to use CCC, since I want all things Platinum on my D drive rather than on my C drive.

So, I've gone to My Products, to Connected Products, and I can see the selection of things I could download under Platinum.  First, there's nothing in there or in the announcement about to indicate what version of Platinum I should be sure I'm downloading.  In My Products it says Version: 21.1.0.37.002 and says it was last put there in Jan.  Is this the BrainTree update of Platinum?  I'm suspecting not.

Other than the main Platinum installer, should I essentially be looking to download the Boz ProChannel collection and the NYC Showroom Collection because nothing else has changed?

Please advise.

I want to note that I'm very glad for this BrainTree release.  I've read the release notes PDF and very much applaud what's included.  This is great.

What's entirely lacking, in my opinion, however, are installation instructions. Especially if you're not going to install via CCC, which many of us do not use because we prefer install locations other than the one and only location CCC wants to install into on the C drive.

I'm excited to get going on the BrainTree release, but patiently awaiting install information.

Is the Rapture preset included in the main Platinum installer, or do we need to download Rapture for that new Hargroove presets announced as part of the release?

John,
Can you answer the question - is the version that I have mentioned above, which has a date of mid January, the updated version to download?  Considering the release happened today (2/27) I'm looking to understand if I'm looking at the right version to install.

OK I've done upate and I'm checking things out. Everything seems great so far except I can't find the new ReMatrix IR's anywhere. It's late so I'm probably just missing something obvious but the PDF is not helping me out - it tells me how great they are, and then seems to offer a brief tutorial on loading IR's through the Import function, and then shows me what it will look like once I've imported some of them, but does not tell me where they are. When I click Import it opens a dialog that points to a ProChannel Presets directory, which is empty of audio files, which is what it is looking for. Anyone able to point me in the right direction, or point out the obvious thing I'm missing? thanks in advance...

EDIT - OK found it, the NXC Showroom Impulses, installed separately from CCC. I knew it would be something obvious. So it goes...

Lava,
The Cakewalk Command Center will note and find any updates. Rapture is a separate listing from Sonar and will need to be updated. This is shown in the C3.

One thing I did even though I had Rapture and Dim Pro already was install them via the C3 just so I would know if an update was available. It works very well.

Hi John...

Interesting... So does this mean that we can't install the new patches in a previously installed version of Rapture? I haven't changed that install since 1.22 was released...

Can anyone else answer this? Maybe someone from Cakewalk as we each only see our particular installation issues...

Thanks John...

John,
I'm not using CCC because I need to specify where I want Platinum and everything installed.  This is why I'm asking what pieces I can install from the My Products / Connected Products section.

The Platinum installer there I'm not certain is the current Braintree release and I'm looking for confirmation from someone.  Thanks

Is this the current version to install?  Setup 21.1.0.37.002
