I just got this response from Spectrasonics Thursday...
Hi Mike,

No worries, we'll be transitioning our entire line to 64 bit, and are presently working on that.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Off topic for a second............

How many of you guys use Perfect Space via bit bridge ?

For a while I have been assuming it was due to my demanding PLAY libraries but alas I found the culprit!!

Got my latency down to 4ms (and even lower - finally!!) ...... but if I add Perfect Space I hear lots of artifacts at that level...

So what latency settings do you guys use for Perfect Space? (would a 64bit native of this plug work better???)

I personally use 512 and it's worked fine for me so far. I don't think you'd wanna take it lower than that since we're talking about a convo reverb but sometimes low settings do work. I guess you'll have to experiment with it.

Good Luck!

My setup is on signature. I use mostly 128 samples (or 64) for recording and 512 for mixing. Perfect Space is set to 512 (in the "Info" tab).

Hey would you guys recommend going 64 bit if running Sonar? So does Beatscape and the rest of the 32 bit plugins still work if it's a 64 bit system? So what usually will work and what won't. What usually stops working when running in 64 bit? how about the Edirol PCR controllers?... So how complex is setting up a 64 bit system to be compatible with the programs?

Wow! That's a lot of questions. These are not easy to answer because they always lead to more questions, so best thing to do is to search the forum for "64 bit" or similar term. These have been answered ad-nauseum.

Take care!

Sort of a bump, but mostly:
OMG!!! I can't believe I missed this announcement... Stylus will be updated, for free, to 64bit... AND a few other features have been added that look VERY interesting to me... AND Trilogy has a 64bit replacement.

I agree that this means Omnisphere will get the native 64bit treatment shortly.
I'm sure now I'll end up with all their stuff once I move back to 64bit.

You know, reading the list on the front page of this thread is very encouraging.
I'm about to have nearly 50% of my favorite major plugins covered!!! That's excellent.

I still require the remaining ones before jumping back to a 64bit OS on the Windows side, but I'm actually thinking it'll actually happen this time (maybe this year, but certainly by NAMM next year).

Great thread, and thanks for posting about the Spectrasonics stuff.
Totally missed that one (or those two, actually).

On a post in the Voxengo forum Aleksey informed me that he's upgrading all his plugs for 64bit and hopes to get most of them done this year. Gliss is one of the first, but he wants to release some new plugs before that. Pristine Space is someway down the list.

Given that it's billed as a 64bit DAW, all of it really should be 64bit, or removed.

I don't agree with this. We wouldn't be as far as we are now if they took that approach from the start. I believe that Microsoft wrote the bit bridge to solve Sonar's issues going x64. In my experience, writiing software is challenging. To some degree, the talent is coming up to speed. I don't think closing doors to rush the job makes any sense. I feel sure that the developers would rather be working on code that will last and hence x64. As consumers, asking for better x64 code means that mangement will support the developers to do what they already want to do, and this is good. By using the x64 software (or testing it for those who are dissatisfied), we press things along.

The driver model introduced with Windows Vista is not changing in Windows 7, which is good news as far as I'm concerned. Good driver development is slow and expensive. I am definitely excited about the current Windows driver model and the impacts it will have on me and my home studio.

I gave my support using your link, Jose.

Not sure if it was mentioned already but Kontakt has an x64 version in beta. Guitar Rig already has an x64 version.

NI's new Maschine is also fully 64 bit native based on the info here so I assume other NI products will follow.

[Add Maschine to your list of x64 plugs Jose?]

It has been an amazing start to the year for native x64 software. Huge. Many of the major players are starting to deliver. It has definitely caused a ripple effect. Cakewalk have done very well to stay on the cold lonely x64 path for so long, but now they too should update other plugs in Sonar that are not fully x64 like Session Drummer, RXP, Beatscape e.t.c At the current rate of X64 releases Cakewalk risk being left behind! Heh. I think even Cubase 5 is now X64 native, Reaper (a version in beta), Orion has another in beta, e.t.c

It's turning into an avalanche!

I think Boost 11 was updated to x64 native status as of Sonar v8 so hopefully between now and the next version of Sonar, users on x64 can do away with any need to use Bit bridge with many other Sonar plugs, which would be great.

Recieved an email from Spectrasonics.....in regards to Omnisphere.

We will be releasing a 64-bit version this year, and will announce the details when we announce the release date.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed! :)

Thats the closest I've got to a confirmation ....

I hope the "I'm sure you won't be disappointed!" bit refers to my question in regards to it being a free update!

It doesn't specify that Maschine is an actual 64 bit plugin, only that it has 64 bit drivers for the hardware (which is a different thing).
