Cakewalk please fix RUPTURE and make it 64bit compatible without workarounds. What's wrong with issuing a quick Hotfix? Especially as it will probably be a giveaway with Sonar 9 :-)

Windows 7 Professional  64 bit - Intel Q-9550 2.83 CPU, 8Gb DDR800, Gigabyte EP35-DS3R, M-Audio Delta 44, Yamaha HS-80M Monitors, UAD-1 Ultra Pack

I'm reading a book about anti-gravity at the moment and I just can't put it down

I am all for this thread, thank you Jose!

I have a bunch of plugs that I'm re-installing, so I will do my own review and contribute to the list.

Slightly OT:

Some PreSonus hardware is not yet 64 bit. I recommend staying away from the Fire Studio Project (firewire) interface and any others without 64 bit drivers until they release said 64 bit drivers, or AT LEAST until they show they are serious about 64 bit development by responding more in their own forum, or by actually getting some beta drivers into some testers' hands.

They promise, but they seem to be avoiding their forum's posts that broach the 64 bit subject. That's very bad policy.

I know!

I was told that there was gonna be an update soon that would fix this issue. It's been too long since people have reported it so I don't get it. Why is it taking so long for Cakewalk to fix this once and for all? Rapture is the best synth (IMHO) Cakewalk has. I hope they at least fix it by Sonar 9 since it'll most likely be part of it.

I've got a 32-bit linux system with 16GB RAM hosting vmware machines and mysql. It has no problem accessing all that memory without 64bits. WINDOWS is the reason you cannot access more than 4GB of RAM

Just catching up on this thread, so this reply is rather late. 32-bit Windows is not the reason you cannot access more than 4G, 32 bits is the reason. The maximum number a 32-bit unsigned integer can represent is 4G. If your system, running Vmware and Linux, is able to access more than that, that doesn't mean a 32-bit OS running under Vmware can address more than 4G at one time. That's just not possible. It also suggests that Vmware *is* 64-bit, but I don't know much about Vmware, so I can say that with authority.

Thought this plugin was not being developed anymore...seem like ages since the last update Halion 3.5 will be x64 native.

Looks like the The Grand v.3 will also be x64 native.

Yes it has been an issue for some time but it looks like Cakewalk may now have addressed the problem...

"Extended Vista x64 support including the ability for both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Rapture to be installed on the Windows Vista x64 operating system ensuring access within 32-bit DAWs that may be running on the 64-bit OS."

Rapture 1.2 appears to have some new features as well. Nice.

I have an idea.. why don't we ask for 128 bits and be double as good? Then, when our final versions are dithered all the way down to 16, we will feel extra good about ourselves for overkill kIDDING

I'm going to take the plunge into Windows 7 64 bit next week.

My main worries are using Battery 3 and The Waves Plugs. These are still not 64 bit right? Can I use them OK in Bitbridge?

Perhaps you all already know this, but for those who don't,

Native Instruments, Kontakt 3.5 64bit Beta version are available now for all registered users.
The upcoming Kontakt 3.5 update brings a lot of technological improvements including a revised sampling engine and DFD streaming technology, as well as 64-bit memory addressing under Mac OS X and Windows Vista 64.

For this reason, the Kontakt team has decided to set up a public beta test. This means that, starting immediately, registered Kontakt 3 owners can download a fully functional 3.5 beta version, and submit eventual bug findings to the Kontakt team over a special "bug tracker" web page.

What is important to know about the public beta version is:

- It will be unlocked with your existing serial number
- It requires (and overwrites) a previous Kontakt 3.0.x installation on the same computer
- It will expire on July 1st 2009 (the official 3.5 update will be made available before that date)

You can sign up for the public beta at:

Me too. I'll wait until NI goes to alpha. It's good to know they are on it though.

But Waves are trailing on behind and not giving any information.

I'm going to go for 64 now I've got 8gb ram. I'll find cheap and open source VSTi's and VST fx until the 'Big Boys' update.

It's just Battery I use all the time. Here's hoping...

Nice!

Thanks for all the good news guys. I've been waiting for a 64 bit sampler for such a long time. Yeah there's also PLAY Engine but it comes with a dongle, so no thanks. Triallian is also another plugin I'll be looking forward to.

Take care guys!

...is out, an x64 version is also available. Voxengo probably now have the largest collection of native x64 plugins and they are all top draw IMO.
