Unfortunately I could not get JBridge to recognise my synchrosoft dongle plugins without crashing. All the other serial number activation ones seemed to work without a problem though.

I just wish bitbridge or JBridge would not hang on my Korg Legacy collection stuff, then I really could go 64-bit Sonar.

I wish it worked with Melodyne stuff... I doesn't on my computer unfortunately or with Nomad Factory BlueTube series.
Some say it worked with Melodyne?

Regards
Freddie

32 bit processes like synths and effects are OK especially if they are acting on individual channels. ...

This thread is primarily about 64-bits used in the operating system and applications which allows more memory to be addressed. The bit depth of audio is a separate issue. e.g. You can have 64 bit audio on a 32 bit system. It all gets a little confusing at times.

so if we're using JBridge and it still crashes 32 bit plugins, installing the 32 bit version of Sonar then the 64 bit version is recommended?

can i install the 32 bit Sonar then later uninstall it leaving the 64 bit version intact?   I'm sure JBridge version updates will address some of the problems mentioned.

I knew there was another plug recently released that I forgot to mention...
No chance of Voxengo being left out of recent x64 additions for too long, they have now added the new Polysquasher 2.0  to their already long list of x64 plugs.

I have no idea why those free plugs do not show up in Sonar. Try another scan and restart Sonar? I do know however that the x64 version of Sonar does ship with x64 native versions of the Sonitus plugs. No need to replace them.

How many plugins do you have?  That's very weird cause they should show up.

Re: RE: !!!!THE 64 BIT CAMPAIGN!!!! 2009/08/03 23:07:32 (permalink)
i went back and reinstalled Sonar to see if i was missing something with the Sonitus plugins, so i made sure all those boxes were checked, and they still do not show up at all, and the Melda 64 bit plugs don't show up either.  now i've got jbridge, and they still don't show up.  i'm sure i'm experiencing a learning curve, as this is my first foray into Vista, but 90% of the plugs that are supposed to registering ARE, it's just these 2 groups (Sonitus and Melda).

but besides that, x64 Vista with 8 gigs of RAM and 2.6Ghz AMD Phenom quad core is truly truly remarkable.  now that i've got almost everything working, i decided to see how powerful this is.  so i loaded up DimPro, Synplant, 3 instances of z3ta+, EZdrummer and Rapture (which would have grinded my previous setup to a literal grinding halt, but here was running at no more than 12% with no pops clicks or glitches while recording with no latency using an M-Audio Keystation 61e into a Tascam US-122L (which has 64 bit drivers:)

unbelievable

3.5 Ghz AMD 6-Core/16 gigs RAM, Roland Quad-Capture, Win 10, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Komplete 10, z3ta+, Z3TA+ 2, Rapture, Maschine 2.7 (MKI & Jam), Melodyne 4 Studio, Ozone 4, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2, Schecter Damien Elite, Fender Sonoran w/TronicalTune Plus installed, etc

Good news guys.

Brandon [Cakewalk] has confirmed that the new Session Drummer 3 is gonna be native 64 bit.  I hope this is the case for all the other plugins.  How cool would that be?  :-)

Was looking through Kvr for 64bit plugins ... interestingly Line 6's Pod Farm came with x64 banner...

Luckily enough there is a freebie offer this month for users who have an I-lok

I may be doing something wrong but that plugin ain't 64bit... (unless anyone else knows different????)

The list of Sonar's native 64 bit plugins has grown a LOT since Sonar 8.3.1.  I have updated the OP to reflect the changes and additions made to Sonar 8.5.1.  There's currently only a handful of native 32 bit plugins left.  Good job Cakewalk!!!

Also thanks to everyone who participated in this thread and for your support.

Take care!

Oh yes Oh yes Oh yes :)

Just purchased the 8.5 upgraded and installed the 64-bit version and rescanned all my plugins. To my surprise it picked up everything and I mean everything including Nomad Factory Effects and my Korg Legacy Collection.

Whatever Cakewalk have done to the bitbridge engine it worked a charm and at last I can seriously think about using Sonar 64-Bit to its max :)

You don't say?

Blue Tube Series? Blue tube, Comp and FX:s series work now with SONAR x64bit after 8.5.1?
Does Melodyne too? =)

That would be awesome if that would work!
